Permanent Positions:

Edward Perez currently teaches at the Center for Preparatory Studies in Music at Queens College and does regular presentations for the Curriculum Arts Project program hosted by Symphony Space. He will also be returning in June 2016 for his second consecutive summer at the Silk Road Global Musician Workshop. Previous positions held include working as a private lesson instructor at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music.

Edward Perez Trio masterclass in Spain

Edward Perez has conducted masterclasses in both English and Spanish throughout Latin America, Europe, and the US covering topics ranging from jazz bass to latin bass lines and the clave, Afro-Peruvian rhythms, jazz appreciation for new listeners, rhythm section playing, and a host of other topics. He is also available to work with a variety of student ensembles, including big band, percussion ensemble, jazz combo, latin-jazz combo, or just about any other format (previous ensemble leading includes a group that combined strings, taiko drums, and operatic soprano, so anything is possible!). Edward Perez also has a repertoire of original compositions for big band that can be performed with student groups. 


Private Lessons

Edward Perez is based in Queens, New York and currently has availability to take on new private students. He has experience teaching students on a variety of instruments, interests, and needs. He can teach in either English or Spanish. For more information, get in touch via email
